CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP
Recently, Burt Tansky, President and CEO, NMG, received a primary education on what it takes to be Principal of Herbert Marcus Elementary. Each year, Dallas Independent School District invites leading members of the community to participate in their "Principals for a Day" program. The program allows these leaders to shadow the principal for one day, in hopes of creating community partnerships and increasing awareness of challenges faced by DISD schools. The Neiman Marcus Group values civic involvement and community service. The heart of our corporate philosophy is to be an engaged and active citizen. Our stores are dedicated to serving our communities and supporting worthwhile causes. And while we do give financially, more importantly, we are known for our generous spirit and support. We are tireless and enthusiastic sponsors of charity fashion shows, luncheons and special events all across the country. Many of our stores and divisions embrace and support causes that resonate with our employees. The United Way has been a Company-wide focus for Neiman Marcus for 46 years. In addition to associate pledges, The Neiman Marcus Group supports the United Way with a corporate contribution to the United Way General Fund. Even in fundraising we try to lead, not follow. Over
the years, NMG employees based in Dallas/Fort Worth have raised money
and awareness for Herbert Marcus Elementary, a school located in a low-income
neighborhood in West Dallas. From donating school supplies and books
for current students to establishing a scholarship fund for Herbert
Marcus Elementary alumni, NMG employees are working to truly change
the lives for the better of these students.
